Your wellness journey through nature, creativity and mindfulness.
Finding your connection with nature
We all have a unique connection with nature. Some feel their connection most powerfully beside water — the sea, a river, a still loch. Others find it in a woodland, through the unique form of a tree. For some it is the vast and infinite feel of a mountain landscape — altitude, rough terrain, exposure to the elements, the sense of being above the everyday world. For others it is the gentle intimacy of a garden, alive with many different flowers. There is no hierarchy here — what matters is authenticity, not drama or scale.
Our sessions begin by exploring this together, guided by three simple questions. Where have you felt most at peace in the natural world — a childhood landscape, a walk you return to again and again? What do you notice that others might walk past — a quiet river, a gorge, or a particular hill that you feel is inviting you — and what does that tell you about what can nourish you? And when you imagine an ideal time in nature, what does it actually feel like: alone or with others, in a wild or cultivated setting, walking or sitting still?
These questions are not a simple to-do list but doorways to walk through — the beginning of designing a nature practice that will genuinely sustain you, whatever form that takes for you. As I have found in my own life, that connection can be as vast as a Highland mountain or as intimate as an apple tree in blossom. Neither is more valid than the other. Together, we will find yours.
Your wellness journey. How our sessions will be
Sessions take place locally in Central Scotland or as guided experiences in the Scottish Highlands, working directly with the landscape around you — or within your own local community
In-person or online via Zoom — whatever suits your journey. Sessions are guided walks and reflective conversation, exploring your connection with nature through the three questions at the heart of this pillar
Each session usually lasts around an hour, or can be longer depending on the weather
After each session, you'll leave with simple reflective practices to carry forward — small, sustainable ways of deepening your connection with nature between our time together
If you are ready for something genuinely different — a long-term investment in creating a unique mind and quality of life based upon who you truly are — 1:1 wellness coaching with Lawers Skai may be the right step for you.
Every journey usually includes all three pillars — this is simply where we begin.
Finding your artistic expression
The relationship between creativity and imagination represents a unique form of human expression — one with the capacity to renew and enrich us over a lifetime. Together, we will explore how reconnecting with your creative self through nature becomes a powerful, ongoing part of your wellness journey. This is not about becoming an artist in a traditional sense. It is about becoming your most expressive self.
"Broadly defined, creativity is bringing something new into existence. As human beings, it's practically our birthright." — Kim Schneiderman, L.C.S.W., Psychology Today
Through nature drawing, watercolour painting, and other artistic mediums, we will discover and nurture your unique artistic expression — following a natural three-stage process that you can return to again and again throughout your life.
We begin outside. Stepping into nature, you observe what draws your attention — a sky, a tree, a country field, a hillside — and sketch what you see and feel. This is not about technical accuracy; it is about presence. From your sketch, you choose how to bring it to life — watercolour, acrylic, pastel, or whatever medium feels right for you. This is the expressive, joyful stage of the process, where colour and form begin to take shape in your own hands. And then you arrive: with a finished piece that is uniquely yours. Not an exercise, but a living record of your creative-wellness journey — one that will evolve with you over time, and evidence, always, of your capacity to create.
Your wellness journey. How our sessions will be
Sessions take place locally in Central Scotland or as guided experiences in the Scottish Highlands, working directly from the landscape around you. Sessions can also take place across different environments — such as a botanical garden — or indoors, for example working on still life as a way of learning the fundamentals of drawing
In-person or online via Zoom — whatever suits your journey and stage of practice
Each session lasts around an hour, working with watercolour, acrylic, or pastel, at your own pace and with no prior experience required. All materials are provided
After each session, you'll leave with reflective practices and gentle prompts to carry forward, so your creative practice continues to grow between our time together

Mindfulness — Living More Deeply in the Present Moment
Mindfulness is one of the most powerful investments you can make in yourself — and one of the simplest. At its heart, it is the practice of paying attention: on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment. Over time, this quality of attention changes everything — how you relate to your thoughts and feelings, how you respond rather than react, and how you move through the ordinary moments of your day.
In our sessions together, drawing on the foundational work of Jon Kabat-Zinn and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, we begin with the simplest of practices — the breath, the body, a single moment of genuine attention — and build gradually from there. There is no assumption of prior experience and nothing to get "right." When your mind wanders, as every mind does, noticing that and gently returning is not a failure. It is the practice itself.
Together, we build something that is genuinely yours — sustainable, personal, and woven into the fabric of daily life, rather than a technique reserved for the cushion or the mat. The result is something more valuable than any single benefit: a quieter, steadier, more honest relationship with your own life.
That is what a genuinely high-quality way of living feels like. And it begins with a single breath, taken with full attention.
